One of the two buildings houses male inpatient wing, a Day Care Unit, administrative offices, canteen, dining hall, laundry and a library. The other building, which is separated by a boundary wall, is the female inpatient wing.

Outpatient Unit has been operational since August, 2004 and handles nearly 500 patients every month, of which 80 per cent are charity patients.

PRESENT CAPACITY AND SERVICES
In the current phase, 63 beds in private and semi-private rooms and general wards have been fully furnished. In due course, as funds become available, Karwan-e-Hayat will increase the number of beds from 63 to 100 which is the Centre’s capacity.

Psychiatric Care & Rehabilitation Centre provides inpatient, outpatient, day care treatment to psychiatric patients, mentally handicapped, emotionally disturbed adults and children.

TREATMENT PROTOCOL

The treatment is carried out under the supervision of a team of highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists and nursing staff.

The treatment protocol is simple, cost effective and is aimed at quick rehabilitation of the patients.

The Centre’s premises are clean, pleasant and comfortable. The location is ideal, providing easy access to patients and has plentiful parking space. Being located at a relatively quieter side of the area, it provides the required calmness from the noise-laden atmosphere, which is very necessary for the patients.
